General
Hijikata is tall, about 5'11", with a lanky, androgynous figure and angular facial features. She is pale, mostly because she doesn't reveal much skin when she goes outside. She has long straight black hair that is worn either down or up with a hairstick with a stray ahoge or two. Hijikata has dark brown eyes with a fox-like shape to them.
Hijikata has a prominent twisting scar up her thigh from an accident.
Fashion
Hijikata prefers to wear men's kimono and yukata with hakama pants, both plain and patterned. Her favorite colors to dress in are neutrals. She prefers plain tabi that match her outfits because they'll be visible (unlike Satoru.) She's obsessed with historical clothing and likes thrifting kimono at discounted prices. When she's working, she ties up her sleeves with a tasuki sash.
Hijikata likes playing with gender and is very inspired by Takarazuka theatre. She considers herself a soft butch. Before she speaks, she's often confused for a man when she's out and about.

Overview
Hijikata is serious and disciplined. She prides herself in being studious and skilled at research. She's quiet and speaks in a low, flat tone. She doesn't smile often, but when she does, it's a gentle smile that makes women swoon. When pleased/for comedy, she makes the signature fox-like expression. Hijikata is the least nervous of the Fujo House and often orders for everyone when they eat out.

Overview
Hijikata is the oldest of the Fujos after the house mama, Rei-sama. She's lived there the longest, once being Rei-sama's assistant before brancing off under her own name. She is a "Nee-san" type. Before she was a mangaka, she was a university student, getting a BFA in Japanese Painting. Finding her given name to be too "delicate" for her tastes, she uses the pen name HIJIKATA.
As an artist who focuses on historical fiction, Hijikata specializes in BL in pre-1920s Japan. Hijikata writes slowly as she does a lot of research between pieces. While she likes BL most of all, she also enjoys other historical media like Golden Kamuy, or queer media that isn't "typical BL" like the film Gohatto. Additionally, she also enjoys danmei.
